SpeakColorsHD 2.0 Released

After some sync issues with Apple’s servers, I’m pleased to announce that version 2.0 of SpeakColorsHD, a speech therapy app for the iPad, is now available on the App Store. SpeakColorsHD is designed to encourage young children to imitate and use simple sentences using colors and photos of objects.

This update includes the following new features:
– Improved default voice.
– Male and female default voices.
– More types of sentences (9 total).
– Import your own photos.
– Add/Delete sentences.
– Change order of sentences.
– Option to display text below the photos and colors.
– Sentence elements are highlighted while the audio is played.
– While audio is playing, pressing other buttons or sentence elements do not cause other audio to play simultaneously.
– Ability to lock the screen.
– Import custom audio from SpeakColorsHD 1.2.
– Images optimized for iPad Retina Display

SpeakColorsHD 2.0 is available for the iPad for the introductory price of $2.99 USD (or equivalent in your country). Click here to view the app in the App Store.

SpeakColorsHD 2.0 – Update Issue

This morning we released version 2.0 of SpeakColorsHD. The update includes many new features including an improved voice and the ability to import photos. Unfortunately, there is an issue with the download. Version 1.2 is being downloaded and installed instead of version 2.0. We have a ticket open with Apple and are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the feedback

Last weekend I received lots of excellent feedback on how SpeakColorsHD can be improved. I received feedback from the Technology in Education’s #AppyTechInEd event and from Special Apps, Special Kids. For the past week, I have been implementing some of the requested features/changes. The next version of SpeakColorsHD will include the ability to import your own photos, the default voice will be re-recorded, there will be an option to use a female voice as the default, more types of sentences and the ability to lock the screen. I really appreciate the feedback because it helps me build a better app for you and your children. Thank you.
